Of the loaf, so often forgotten !!!

In the kitchen, by the toaster,

Lies the end piece, often a coaster,

Of the loaf, so often forgotten,

But I’m here to sing its praises, unbroken.

Oh, the end of the bread, don’t you see,

You’re the unsung hero, just like me,

Golden crust, a little bit small,

But you’re loved by one and all.

You’re the crustiest; you’re the best.

With a flavour that beats the rest,

Spread some butter, jam, or honey.

On your surface, warm and sunny.

Oh, the end of the bread, don’t you see?

You’re the unsung hero, just like me.

Golden crust, a little bit small,

But you’re loved by one and all.

You’re perfect for a midnight snack,

Or in a lunchbox, a sneak attack,

With some cheese and a little ham,

You’re the start of a tasty plan.

Oh, the end of the bread, don’t you see?

You’re the unsung hero, just like me.

Golden crust, a little bit small,

But you’re loved by one and all.

So here’s to the end piece; let’s proclaim,

Your importance in the bread game,

You may be last, but not the least.

You make our meals a true feast.

Oh, the end of the bread, don’t you see?

You’re the unsung hero, just like me.

Golden crust, a little bit small,

But you’re loved by one and all.

In the world of loaves, you’re our gem.

The end of the bread, we’ll always defend,

With each bite, we’re truly fed,

So, thank you, end piece; you’re our daily bread.
